Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 May 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of DutyCalc GH (the "Service"), operated by Black Opal ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. The Service

DutyCalc GH provides software-generated estimates of Ghana import duties, taxes and levies for vehicles and general goods. Estimates are based on publicly available 2026 ECOWAS CET, GRA tariff and levy schedules, and on inputs you provide or documents you upload.

2. Estimates are not assessments

Estimates are not official Ghana Customs assessments. The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) determines actual duties via ICUMS, and may apply different valuations — particularly for vehicles, where the GRA Home Delivery Value (HDV) database is used. Always confirm with a licensed customs house agent before remitting funds.

3. Accounts & payments

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Payments are processed by Paystack in Ghana cedis (GHS). Subscriptions renew on the dates shown in your billing portal until cancelled. Single-purchase products are non-refundable once delivered.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to facilitate import smuggling, evasion, or any unlawful activity. Documents you upload must be lawfully in your possession.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, branding, and content are the property of Black Opal. You retain ownership of documents and data you upload; you grant us a limited licence to process them solely to deliver the Service.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Black Opal is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from reliance on an estimate. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the prior twelve months.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
