Last updated: 8 May 2026
Black Opal respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use DutyCalc GH, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to comply with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
1. Data we collect
- Account data — name, email, password hash, and (optionally) phone number.
- Estimate inputs — the vehicle or goods details you submit for calculation.
- Uploaded documents — Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists you upload to be parsed.
- Payment metadata — transaction reference and status from our payment processor. We do not store card numbers.
- Operational data — IP address, browser type, and timestamps used for security and debugging.
2. How we use it
- To generate your estimates and deliver branded reports.
- To process payments via Paystack and manage subscriptions.
- To send you receipts, estimate summaries, and important account notices.
- To detect abuse, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable law.
3. Sub-processors
- Our payment processor — to process Mobile Money, card, and bank-transfer payments.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — document parsing for goods estimates. Documents are sent securely and not used to train models.
- Cloudflare R2 — encrypted storage of uploaded documents.
- Hostinger — hosting infrastructure and SMTP email delivery.
4. Retention
We retain estimates and uploaded documents for as long as your account is active so you can revisit them. You may delete documents at any time from your dashboard. Account deletion removes all linked records within 30 days.
